MMA FAQs

Do I need experience for MMA classes in Basingstoke?

No prior martial arts experience is needed! Our MMA classes start with fundamentals and build progressively. We teach striking, grappling, and ground fighting from the ground up.

What equipment do I need for MMA training?

We provide gloves and equipment for beginners. As you progress, you may want MMA gloves, shin guards, and a mouthguard. Wear comfortable athletic clothing or rashguard and fight shorts.

Is MMA training dangerous?

When taught properly with qualified coaches, MMA training is very safe. We emphasize technique, control, and progressive training. Sparring is optional and always supervised with protective equipment.

How is MMA different from boxing or Muay Thai?

MMA combines multiple martial arts - boxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, and grappling. You learn to fight at all ranges: striking distance, clinch, and ground. It's the most complete combat sport.

Do I need to be in good shape to start MMA?

No! MMA training will get you in shape. We scale exercises to your fitness level and you'll build strength and endurance as you train. Start where you are and progress gradually.

Can I compete in MMA from your gym?

Yes! For students who want to compete, we provide fight preparation and support for amateur MMA competitions. However, most students train for fitness, self-defense, or personal growth without competing.
